Mark's Story
Mark McKenney is a three-term Rhode Island State Senator. A champion for working class families, Sen. McKenney believes that government should work for the people and that it is his duty as an elected official to drive positive change for his neighbors in District 30 and beyond.

Warwick Roots
Mark McKenney is a lifelong Warwick resident, raised in Buttonwoods and proud to call this community home. His parents instilled in him the values of hard work and public service, his father was one of the first doctors at Kent Hospital, and his mother was a teacher.
Mark and his wife, Tricia, raised their family in Warwick, where their children attended public schools and remain part of the local community today.

Education & Professional Practice
Mark earned his degree from Boston College and his law degree from The Catholic University of America. He is a partner in a Rhode Island law firm and has spent his career advocating for workers, businesses, and local communities.
He played a key role in reforming Rhode Island’s workers’ compensation system by bringing together labor, business, and insurance leaders to find common ground and deliver results.

Public Service
Mark has dedicated years to public service, including serving as a State Senator representing Warwick’s District 30. He has also held leadership roles with Literacy Volunteers of Rhode Island, the State Library Board, and the Providence Community Library.
Locally, he has served on the Warwick Zoning Board and in leadership roles within the Buttonwoods community, always focused on strengthening the community he calls home.

Why I'm Running
Mark is running for State Senate because he believes Warwick deserves leadership that brings people together and delivers real results. He has seen firsthand how division and inaction hold Rhode Island back—and knows we can do better.
He is focused on lowering the cost of living, strengthening public schools, supporting small businesses, and ensuring seniors and veterans are treated with the respect they deserve.
Mark believes in working across differences with civility and common sense to move Warwick—and Rhode Island—forward.
